MACON – After spending the last three weeks defending their home turf, the Mercer Bears (8-1) prepare for their final series of their opening homestand with the University of Pennsylvania Quakers (0-3) coming to town.

Notables:
- Mercer swept the Florida A&M Rattlers in a mid-week series where the Bears outscored the visitors 12-1. The Bears have only allowed two runs over the last 20 innings played.
- The Bears' offense is led by a three-headed monster consisting of Titan Kamaka, Logan Shepherd and Chris Katz. Kamaka is currently slashing .444/.600/.667 with 18 total bases and is seventh in the nation with 12 walks. Shepherd leads the Bears with four home runs, four doubles, 13 RBI and 29 total bases. Katz has a .389 batting average with two doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI and 25 total bases so far in his first season at Mercer.
- Since the 19-3 loss against Troy on opening weekend, the Bears' pitching staff has been dominant. Over the last six games, Mercer's stable has maintained an ERA of 3.16 while striking out 71 batters and only dishing out 21 walks.Â
- Penn began its season on the road against then No. 24 Texas A&M. The Quakers kept the Aggies scoreless until the bottom of the ninth on Friday, February 21 and took them to extra innings the next day.Â
- Junior LHP Marty Coyne began his season with five shutout innings against Texas A&M last Friday. Coyne struck out nine batters while only allowing four hits and a walk against the Aggies.
- Senior RHP Jake Moss threw 4.1 innings of shutout ball last Saturday. Moss struck out four Aggies while only allowing five hits and dishing out three walks.
- The bats have yet to take off for Penn. Jay Secretarski leads the Quakers with a .300 batting average with three base knocks and a run scored.
- Penn was picked to finish third in the Preseason Ivy League Coaches' Poll after finishing third in the regular season standings last year. The Quakers return five All-Ivy players from the 2025 season in Jarrett Pokrovsky, Coyne, Gavin Collins, Davis Baker and Nick Spaventa.
