Tennessee Tech struck first with an RBI double in the opening inning. Braydon Kersey tied the game in the following frame with his seventh home run of the season. The Golden Eagles scored four runs in the bottom of the third headlined by an RBI triple from Owen Lee. The Bears grabbed two back in the top of the fifth. Logan Shepherd and Chris Katz plated two more runs for the Bears with RBI singles in the sixth inning. Kersey pushed Mercer back into the lead in the seventh inning when he came home off a wild pitch. Shepherd extended the Bears' advantage with his second RBI base knock of the night the following frame. Tennessee Tech tied the game once again in the eighth before Devyn McEachron mashed his first home run in a Mercer uniform, a three-run shot to left field, to give the Bears a 10-7 lead. The Golden Eagles scored three runs in the home half of the ninth to send the contest to extra innings. Titan Kamaka muscled an RBI double off the right field fence to give Mercer a one-run lead before Jorsixt Jimenez tied it with a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth. Dylan LaPointe mashed his second home run of the season and Katz followed it up with his sixth home run on the year to give the Bears a three-run advantage. Reid Fagerstrom retired the side and picked up two strikeouts in the bottom of the eleventh to secure Mercer's win.Â
