Donor Drive Challenge Celebrates Record-Breaking Year

MACON – The Mercer Athletic Foundation is thrilled to announce the results of its 2026 Donor Drive Challenge. In its 13th year, the Donor Drive Challenge surpassed the goal of $100,000 thanks to the contributions of numerous donors and primary sponsors Five Star Automotive, OrthoGeorgia, Roland, Abbott, & DeZoort Insurance, Core Management Resources, Cassidy Dental Associates and Turner Construction Management.

The Donor Drive Challenge elicited 172 gifts resulting in the accumulation of $192,400. That amount eclipsed last year's total by more than $30,000 and marks the largest amount of money donated in the challenge's 13-year history.

"Every year, this challenge continues to showcase just how strong the Mercer Athletics community really is. Every year, we see alumni, fans, and friends step up in huge ways to support the programs they care about," said MAF Executive Director Brian Gerrity. "What initially started as a way to grow our donor base has become something our community really rallies around."

Since the inception of the challenge, more than $1,500,000 has been raised to support a number of different initiatives including equipment, championship rings, facility upgrades, computer software, broadcast equipment and championship travel. Due to the generosity of donors, the challenge has surpassed its goal every year.
