Noteworthy:
- Garrett Lambert was untouchable on Friday night against The Citadel. The redshirt freshman turned in the longest outing of his career after hurling six hitless innings against the Bulldogs. The Bears finished three outs away from recording their first no-hitter in program history.
- Logan Shepherd went 2-for-4 with his seventh home run of the season in Mercer's 11-0 win in the conference opener. Shepherd has now homered in back-to-back games after going on a nine-game homerless stretch.
- Since launching his first home run as a Bear last Friday, Devyn McEachron has left the year two more times including a grand slam in the sixth inning of Friday night's contest. McEachron is the second Bear to mash a grand slam this season, joining Braydon Kersey who blasted the first of the year to cap off an 8-1 comeback win over Columbia.
- The Bears beat the Citadel 11-0 in just two hours and 20 minutes – the shortest game of the season. Mercer's shutout over the Bulldogs marks the third time the Bears have blanked their opponents this season, tying their total of three shutouts a year ago.
