MACON, Ga. – Chris Katz capped off a thrilling senior day with his second walk-off home run of the season in the tenth inning of Saturday afternoon's game at OrthoGeorgia Park.

Decisive Plays:

Braydon Kersey snatched the first lead of the day for the Mercer Bears (27-12, 4-5 SoCon) with a two-run home run (16) in the bottom of the second inning. Drew Johnson added onto the Bears' advantage with an RBI single later in the frame. Titan Kamaka plated Mercer's fourth run of the game with an infield single after Eli Stephens legged out a triple in the third inning. The Towson Tigers (15-21, 4-14 CAA) tied the game with four runs in the fifth inning headlined by a Nich Francuzenko home run. Lawson Cole shut down the Tigers in the sixth before handing the ball over to Jess Ackerman who fired three shutout innings with six strikeouts and kept the game tied at four. Kersey took the mound to start the tenth and retired Towson in order that set up the Bears' walk-off opportunity. Logan Shepherd drew a six-pitch walk and Katz stepped into the box and launched the second pitch he saw over the left field wall to give Mercer its second walk-off win this season.

Notables:

Chris Katz mashed a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to give Mercer a 6-4 win over Towson on Saturday night. This is the Bears' second walk-off win this season with the last coming on opening day courtesy of a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth by Katz.
