Mercer's seven All-Big South selections were the most in the conference
Mercer's seven All-Conference selections were the most among all Big South Teams. Caroline Glus was named Big South Offensive Player of the Year, Ansley Walters was named Big South Midfielder of the Year and Head Coach Samantha Eustace was named Big South Coach of the Year, to highlight the postseason recognition for the Bears.
Mercer's First Team All-Big South selections were: Glus, Walters, Sofia D'Angelo and Fiona Tanis. On the Second Team were three Mercer players: Ayla Galloway, Kellie Voorhees and Abbi Rupnow. Freshman defender Sophie Andrychowski was named to the Big South All-Freshman Team. Senior defender Izzy Parrett was named to the Big South All-Academic Team.
Mercer went 11-6 overall and 8-0 in Big South play, capturing the program's fifth consecutive Big South regular season title.
Glus is the third Mercer student-athlete in the last four years to win Big South Offensive Player of the Year honors. She finished the regular-season with 68 points and 56 goals, which both led the conference. Her 56 goals are tied for 17th in the country, and she was tops in the Big South with 4.00 points per game -- the lone player to reach that threshold. In eight Big South matches, Glus led the league with 29 goals and finished second with 36 points. A three-time Big South Offensive Player of the Week selection in 2026, Glus scored two or more goals in all 17 games during the season, including a career-high tying six goals in Mercer's win over Arizona State. She also tallied hat tricks against Virginia Tech and Florida, and scored five points (three goals, two assists) vs. Clemson.
Walters is the second Mercer student-athlete in three seasons to be voted Midfielder of the Year. She finished the regular-season with 23 goals and five assists for 28 points, and her 23 scores were the third-most on the team. Defensively, Walters led Mercer with 21 caused turnovers to go with 22 ground balls and 12 draw controls. She helped the Bears hold conference opponents to a league-best 3.9 goals per game. Walters tied her single-game career high with four goals against Radford.
Coach Eustace earned her second Big South Coach of the Year award after leading the Bears to the outright Big South regular-season championship at 8-0 -- the program's fifth consecutive outright/shared regular-season crown. She guided the Bears to a 137-31 scoring differential over the conference season for averages of 17.1 goals scored against just 3.9 goals allowed. The team recorded the first-ever shutout in the 14-year history of Big South Women's Lacrosse with its blanking of Radford on April 18. Overall, the Bears allowed five goals or less six times, and surpassed 20 goals in a contest on three occasions -- including a 20-16 victory over Arizona State on March 14. Mercer is the No. 1 seed in this week's Big South Women's Lacrosse Championship for the fourth consecutive year.
Sofia D'Angelo earned her first career All-Conference recognition after finishing the season with 44 goals and 13 assists for 57 points. She finished second on the team in all three of those categories. D'Angelo led the Big South with 38 points during conference play. D'Angelo's 44 goals on the season are tied for her career high. On April 22, against Wofford she scored a single-game career high nine points (6G, 3A).
Fiona Tanis was named a First Team All-Conference selection for the first time in her career after earning All-Big South Honorable Mention last year. Tanis finished the season with a team high 33 ground balls to go with 16 caused turnovers which were tied for second most on the team.
Redshirt sophomore midfielder Abbi Rupnow collected her first career All-Conference nod, being named Second Team All-Big South. Rupnow had the best regular season of her career as she had career highs in points (13), goals (10), assists (3), ground balls (22), caused turnovers (16) and draw controls (14). She scored a career high two goals, twice, against Stetson and Longwood. She led Mercer with three caused turnovers in the Bears' win over Arizona State.
Sophomore defender/draw specialist Ayla Galloway earned her first career All-Conference recognition as a Second Team All-Big South selection. Galloway is having an outstanding season as Mercer's draw specialist. She leads the Big South and ranks sixth in the country with 167 draw controls (9.8 per game). She had two games this season with 19 draw controls which set the Mercer and Big South single-game record.
Junior defender Kellie Voorhees also earned her first career All-Conference honor as a Second Team All-Big South selection. Voorhees, has a career high 10 caused turnovers, 11 ground balls and three draw controls. She has been one of Mercer's key pieces in holding conference opponents to a league best 3.8 goals per game.
Freshman defender Sophie Andrychowski was named to the Big South All-Freshman Team. Andrychowski has stepped in to Mercer's starting lineup - making 12 starts - and contributed right away with 15 caused turnovers and 14 ground balls. Her 15 caused turnovers are tied for fourth most on the team. She had a career high three caused turnovers on April 11 against Winthrop.
