MACON – After a program-best finish at the Southern Conference Championship tournament, the Mercer Bears earned a spot in the 2026 Golfweek National Golf Invitational set to take place at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.

The National Golf Invitational is the equivalent to the NIT in college basketball and gives programs the opportunity to put their talents on display on a national scale. The individual winner of the competition earns a spot in the Butterfield Bermuda Championship on the PGA Tour this upcoming October.
Henry Robards is the Bears' leading individual scorer with a 71.38 stroke average. The sophomore from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, was an All-SoCon First Teamer and maintained the fourth-best scoring average out of 73 individuals in the conference. Robards was the individual runner-up at the SoCon Championship and was a key factor in Mercer securing its best team finish at the event in school history.
