
Women's Soccer Announces 2026 Schedule

MACON, Ga. – Mercer women's soccer and head coach Tony Economopoulos have announced the 2026 schedule, featuring nine home matches at Betts Stadium.
The Bears' schedule consists of one exhibition match, nine non-conference matches and for the first time since joining the SoCon, 10 conference matches with the addition of Tennessee Tech to the Southern Conference beginning the 2026-27 academic year.
Coach Economopoulos enters his 15th season as head coach at Mercer. The Bears finished last season, 10-7-3 overall and went 3-3-3 in conference play. Mercer made a great run in the SoCon Tournament, defeating the No. 2 & 3 seeds to advance to the championship game.
Mercer will play an exhibition match at the College of Charleston on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. One week after the exhibition, Mercer will play its season opener on the road at Jackson State on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 6 p.m.
The Bears are on the road for their first three games of the season as after the season opener at Jackson State, Mercer will visit in-state foe West Georgia on Aug. 16 before making a trip to the northeast to take on Maine in what will be the first all-time meeting between the two teams on Aug. 20.
Mercer will finally return home for its home opener set for Sunday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. against South Carolina State. The game is the first of three straight home games for the Bears as Mercer will then play Georgia Southern on Aug. 27, followed by a visit from Georgia on Aug. 30.
September begins with a road trip to Rock Hill, South Carolina to play Winthrop on Sept. 3. Mercer will play its final home non-conference game on Sept. 6 against Alabama State. The non-conference schedule wraps up with a trip down to Tampa to play South Florida on Sept. 10.
The Bears open SoCon play on Sept. 17 at ETSU and follow it with another tough road trip to Birmingham, Alabama to play defending SoCon champion Samford on Sept. 25. The SoCon home opener for the Bears is set for Thursday, Oct. 1 against The Citadel at 7 p.m. After visiting UNCG on Oct. 4, Mercer will host SoCon newcomer Tennessee Tech on Oct. 9.
Mercer's final two games of the regular season are at home against Furman on Oct. 29 and Chattanooga on Nov. 1.
The SoCon Tournament is scheduled to begin Nov. 5 with the championship game set for Nov. 15.
