
Mercer Volleyball Pulls Off Big Comeback to Defeat Alabama State

Troy, Ala. – Mercer Volleyball came back from an eight-point deficit while down 2-1 in sets to down the Alabama State Hornets in five sets on Saturday.
The Bears (1-1) dropped the first and the third set to go down 2-1 against Alabama State and were down 13-5 halfway through the fourth set before rallying back, winning 20 of the next 29 points to force a fifth set. The Hornets held the advantage through the majority of the fifth set, but a Mikayla Miessler kill and Joselynn Sanjurjo block gave the Bears the advantage for Lara Matta to seal the match with a kill.
The Orange and Black will wrap up their weekend at the Troy Invitational tomorrow at noon ET against the North Alabama Lions.
