Mercer Men's Basketball Announces 2026-27 Schedule

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's basketball team unveiled its 2026-27 schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The Bears enter the third year under head coach Ryan Ridder.
Mercer's 32-game regular season schedule features 12 non-conference games in addition to the new 20-game Southern Conference schedule with the addition of Tennessee Tech to the Southern Conference. The Bears will play 13 games at home inside Hawkins Arena this season.
Mercer's season opener is set for Monday, Nov. 2 when the Bears host Reinhardt for an 11 a.m. tip from Hawkins Arena.
Following the season opener, Mercer will then travel for five straight away games, beginning with a trip to Blacksburg, Virginia to play Virginia Tech. That game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip on Thursday, Nov. 5 inside Cassell Coliseum. Following Virginia Tech, Mercer will continue its road trip in Davidson, North Carolina as the Bears visit Davidson on Nov. 7. Mercer will also travel to Morgantown, West Virginia on Nov. 12 to play the West Virginia Mountaineers.
After it's 5-game road trip, Mercer will return home to host Charleston Southern on Saturday, Nov. 21. Thanksgiving week will see the Bears travel down to Boca Raton to play FAU on Nov. 24. December begins with an in-state battle against Georgia State on Dec. 1 in Atlanta.Â
With a 20-game conference schedule for the first time, SoCon play will begin earlier than usual. Mercer's SoCon opener is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5 at home against Wofford. Following the SoCon opener, Mercer will play it's last two non-conference games of the season out west. The Bears will head out to Tucson, Arizona to play Arizona State on Dec. 8, followed by visiting New Mexico at the well-renowned "The Pit" on Dec. 15.
The Bears will get back into conference play on Dec. 19 with a trip to Chattanooga followed by visiting SoCon newcomer Tennessee Tech on Dec. 22. Mercer will host ETSU on Dec. 30 and begin the 2027 calendar year by welcoming Western Carolina to Macon on Jan. 6.Â
Mercer's final home game of the season is set for Saturday, Feb. 20 against Chattanooga. After taking on the Mocs, the Bears will close out the regular season with two games on the road, at Samford on Feb. 24 and at The Citadel on Feb. 27.
The 2027 SoCon Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 5-8 at the Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, N.C.
