Mercer Men's Soccer Coach Brad Ruzzo has announced the hiring of Bryant Jackson as a new Assistant Coach for the Bears on July 3, 2023.
Before joining the coaching staff, Jackson spent the past four years playing under Coach Ruzzo as a defender. While at Mercer, Jackson started 54 out of 61 in his career and added one assist. Jackson was a vital asset to the Mercer Defense holding five opponents scoreless during his senior season. During his junior year, Jackson helped Mercer secure a 2021 SoCon Tournament Championship. Following his performance in the conference tournament, Jackson was named to the 2021 SoCon Men's Soccer Championship All-Tournament Team. Jackson helped lead the Bears to two SoCon Tournament Championship titles and two NCAA tournament berths.
Prior to joining Mercer, Jackson was a defender for Richmond Hill HS and the Atlanta United Development Academy. During his time at Richmond Hill, Jackson was named Region Player of the Year and was a two-time All-Region Selection. Jackson also holds the record for most goals by an underclassman at Richmond Hill HS.
