Kylie Durkee, a native from Green Bay, WI, Â joined the athletic department at Mercer University in August 2021 as the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning.

Coach Durkee comes to Mercer University from the University of North Florida where she served as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Softball, Men’s Soccer, Track & Field & Women’s Golf programs, designing and implementing year-round comprehensive training programs. Previously, Coach Durkee was a Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. While earning her master’s degree in Kinesiology, she served as the Assistant Strength Coach for Softball, Men’s Soccer, and Swimming & Diving, while assisting with the Football, Track & Field & Hockey Programs.

Prior to her role at the University of Mary, Coach Durkee earned her Bachelors of Science in Exercise & Sport Science, and a double minor in Nutrition & Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. During this time, she interned at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where she gained experience working with Women’s & Men’s Basketball, Hockey, Golf & Dance & Cheer Programs.

Coach Durkee’s certifications include:
Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, Level 1 USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach Certification, Functional Movement Screen (FMS) certified, Level 1 Reflexive Performance Reset (RPR) certified, a Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN) through the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) and is certified through the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR & AED.

In 2019, Coach Durkee was the recipient of the Lance Vermeil Scholarship; a scholarship awarded to a qualified & committed young strength and conditioning coach in the field. She was recognized for her continued determination to grow and learn within the field.

Coach Durkee recently married her now husband, Zach Durkee in June 2021. They have one dog, Possum, and two cats, Nala & Jaxx.
