Luke Samford joined the Mercer University cross country and track and field programs before the 2014-15 school year.
Samford came to Macon from Sewanee University, where he coached from 2013 to 2014. Prior to Sewanee, Samford served as a coach on staff at Kennesaw State during the 2012-13 season, helping the men’s team capture the indoor and outdoor Atlantic Sun championships.
During his coaching tenure, Samford has had one NCAA finalist, seven all-region performer and 52 all-conference athletes. Samford’s student-athletes have set 15 program records.
Samford graduated from the University of Idaho, where he competed on the men’s track and field team.
