Scott Schweihofer was named assistant coach of the Mercervolleyball team on February 8, 2012.
Schweihofer brings six years of collegiate coaching experienceto the program after holding various coaching positions at theCollege of Charleston, Limestone College, Presbyterian College andMichigan State.
A 2011 graduate of Limestone College, Schweihofer spent twoseasons playing for the Saints after transferring from MichiganState. In two years at Limestone, Schweihofer was named teamMVP twice on his way to finishing as the program's career leader inaces, kills, attacking attempts and games played. In hissenior campaign, he earned the school's first all-conferenceselection when he garnered a first-team nod from ConferenceCarolinas.
While attending Limestone, Schweihofer spent time as the women'svolleyball assistant coach at nearby Presbyterian College, where hehelped the program transition from Division II to Division I. As a member of the Blue Hose staff, he was responsible for videoediting, game tape exchange, practice planning and scheduling, gamestrategy and recruiting.
Before transferring to Limestone, Schweihofer was a studentassistant for the women's volleyball team at Michigan State. His time at MSU saw the Spartans advance to the NCAA Sweet-16 andcompile a 21-14 (10-10 Big Ten) record.
After graduating from Limestone with a B.S. in PhysicalEducation, Schweihofer signed on with the College of Charleston inan assistant coaching position. With his help, the Cougarsposted a 25-10 (13-3 SoCon) record and advanced to the conferencetournament final.
In Charleston, Schweihofer coordinated opponent film breakdown,video editing, film exchange, practice planning and game dayoperations.
