SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The postseason awards began to roll in for the Mercer men's tennis team on Wednesday afternoon when seniors Hod'Abalo Isak Padio and Nemanja Stefanovic claimed first team All-Southern Conference accolades as individual players, as well as a tandem.
Â
The announcement marked the third-straight year that Stefanovic has raked in all-league recognition, and the second time in his two-year stay in Macon that Padio has been decorated with the honor. It is the third-straight year that the Bears have sent at least one representative to the all-league listing,
Â
Stefanovic, a product of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, has accumulated 15 singles victories during the 2025-26 campaign, including a dozen amid the traditional spring campaign for the Orange & Black. Sporting a 6-1 mark in singles action inside league play, the 2025 SoCon Player of the Year has also won 12 of his last 14 singles contests heading into the postseason.
Â
A native of Lome, Togo, Padio has been equally as impressive, totaling a team-best 20 singles wins (11 in traditional spring campaign), including seven triumphs in the No. 1 position and four more in the No. 2 spot. The former NJCAA doubles national champion sports a 5-2 mark against SoCon foes, and will ride a five-match win streak in singles play into the league's postseason tournament.
Â
Padio/Stefanovic has showcased itself as one of the league's top doubles tandems, registering a 12-4 mark in the spring, including a 4-2 clip against SoCon doubles squads. The duo closed out the regular season with a dozen wins in its last 14 outings, and will take a six-match win streak into postseason play.
Â
Winners in five out of its last six outings, Mercer will begin its postseason road on Thursday when the fourth-seeded Bears (9-12) take on fifth-seeded Furman (8-14) in the quarterfinals round of the 2026 SoCon Tournament. Start time has been slated for 1 p.m. at Champions Club in Chattanooga.
