
Mercer Men's Basketball Slated Twice for CSS Television Broadcasts

MACON, Ga. – Mercer University's men's basketball team is slated to make two appearances on the Atlantic Sun Conference's Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) “Friday Night Game of the Week” in 2011, it has been announced.
Additionally, all four semifinal games - and the women's championship game - of the General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Basketball Championships hosted by the Bears at the University Center are also on tap to be broadcast by CSS.
The CSS schedule of games – released by the A-Sun office – features Mercer at Stetson from DeLand, Fla., on Jan. 14 (7 p.m. ET). The Bears' second appearance on the “Game of the Week” comes on Feb. 18 when the team travels to Jacksonville, Fla., to face the University of North Florida (7 p.m. ET).
“Building on another exciting season, the Atlantic Sun and CSS have put together a compelling series of games for our CSS/A-Sun Game of the Week series,” A-Sun Commissioner Ted Gumbart said. “CSS has proven to be a great partner for close to a decade and we look forward to another great season of Atlantic Sun basketball on CSS.”
CSS will carry the five games of the 2011 General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Basketball Championships from Mercer's University Center. Like it has since the men's and women's merged into a single event, CSS will provide wall-to-wall action of Semifinal Friday, airing all four contests on March 4. The women's games will air at noon and 2:30 p.m. with the men's games set for 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The women's title game on Saturday, March 5 concludes the CSS schedule of games.
The men's A-Sun championship game is carried live by ESPN.

Matt Stewart and Sonny Smith return as the voices for the broadcasts. The CSS A-Sun Game of the Week highlight the conference's television package with additional matchups featuring some of the league's top rivalries are expected to be added to the lineup.
