
Mighty And Okojie Earn Spots On All-SoCon Team

Okojie, a junior guard from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, has had the best season of his career with the Bears. In 30 games played in the regular season, Okojie ranked second in the SoCon in scoring at 19.5 points per game and led the conference with 5.4 assists per game. Both were career highs for Okojie.
Okojie scored a career high 29 points twice this season, at Elon on Nov. 29 and at home against Wofford on Jan. 10. He also had a career high 12 assists in two different games as well, first against Lipscomb on Nov. 9 and in the same game against Wofford where he scored 29 points.
Okojie scored in double figures in all 30 games and scored 20 or more points in 13 of those games. Okojie leads the country in free throws made with 218 made free throws. On the defensive end, Okojie finished sixth in the SoCon with 1.4 steals per game.
Mighty, a redshirt junior from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is the first Mercer player to be named SoCon Defensive Player of the Year. Mighty led the league in blocks (54) and offensive rebounds per game (4.10). He finished second in the conference and eighth in the country in rebounds per game at 10.7 per game which was a career best.
Mighty also averaged a career best 13.5 points per game while shooting 65.1 percent from the field which is eighth best in the country.
In Mercer's game at VMI on Jan. 18, Mighty finished with 18 points and a career high 25 rebounds. His 25 rebounds remain today the most rebounds in a game by a Division I player this season and were the second most rebounds in program history.
Okojie and Mighty will lead the Bears in their SoCon Tournament Quarterfinal game against Western Carolina on Saturday, March 7 in Asheville, North Carolina. Tip off is at 8:30 p.m. ET from Harrah's Cherokke Center.
