
Former Mercer Hoops Standout Korey McCray Named UCLA Assistant Coach

WESTWOOD, Calif. – Former Mercer men's basketball player Korey McCray has been named as an assistant coach for Ben Howland at the Unversity of California-Los Angeles. McCray played for the Bears from 1997-2001.
Most recently, McCray was the CEO of the Atlanta Celtics AAU program (which is recognized for having produced several NBA players). Prior to that, McCray's coaching résumé includes serving as an assistant coach at Mercer from 2007-2008 and as an assistant at Florida's Chipola Junior College from 2004-2005. He was also a graduate assistant at Florida State from 2002-2004.
McCray led MU in assists all four of his seasons in the Orange and Black (with 75, 74, 92 and 103 assists, respectively). His 344 assists ranks third on the Bears' all-time list and he is ninth in career assists per game (3.1). He is also eighth in career three-point field goals made (113) and 6th in three-point field goals attempted (345).
