Women's Golf in Fifth After Day Two of Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Mercer women's golf team sits in fifth place after completion of Saturday's second round of the Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course.
Mercer fired a team score of 310 on day two to finish four shots behind fourth-place Samford. Tournament host Furman leads the 14-team field by one shot after shooting a team score of 299 on day two.
Junior Mary Alice Murphy is currently in a four-way tie for second place individually in the event after registering an even par 72 in today's action. The Lookout Mountain, Tenn. native is just two shots behind Chattanooga's Marion Duvernay, who shot a two-under 70.
Junior Lacey Fears is next in line for the Bears, carding a 76 to sit in a tie for 17th place. Senior Aurelie Wiriath signed for an 80 to move into a tie for 24th. Sophomore Sarah Louie Brown and senior Kaitlin Marrin rounded out the Mercer squad with scores of 82 and 84 on day two to place them in a tie for 49th and 94th, respectfully.
Mercer wraps up play in Greenville with tomorrow's final round beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
