Softball Fall Schedule Announced

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer softball team and head coach James Defeo announced the 2014 fall season schedule on Wednesday. Fans will have five opportunities to watch the Bears in action at Sikes Field in fall competition from September 27th to November 13th.
The Bears will host Shorter on Sept. 27 and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Sept. 28 as a part of Family Weekend. Both games will feature doubleheaders beginning at 1 p.m.
Mercer is set to return 14 players in 2015 from a squad that finished 37-19, including seven starting position players that finished last season. Among returners are sophomores Taylor Miller, Kirsten Stevens and Caroline Taylor, who all earned Atlantic Sun All-Freshman team recognition a year ago.
The Bears will begin regular season play February 6-8 of 2015, as they host The Mercer Invitational at Sikes Field.
