Head Coach Eve Levinson Resigns from Women's Lacrosse Program

MACON, Ga. - Eve Levinson, who was selected three years ago to start and coach the first women's lacrosse team at Mercer University, has resigned as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. Levinson will be pursuing other professional opportunities closer to her family in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Under Levinson's guidance the team came within one win of making the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament in its inaugural season. Four players earned All-Atlantic Sun recognition with Fiona Stockton being named to Inside Lacrosse's All-Rookie Team. The team finished the season ranked third nationally in ground balls per game and 10th in draw controls. Another notable accomplishment was the Bears' academic success, as the team posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.27 with 19 players earning All-Academic recognition from the Atlantic Sun. Levinson was also active in starting a successful fundraising program for the University.
"It has been an honor to create the foundation for Mercer's women's lacrosse program, and I'm proud of what we were able to accomplish in such a short time," said Levinson. "The tradition we've started here has set the stage for the continued growth and success of this team. I wish all involved with the future of Mercer women's lacrosse the best of luck."

"She has exceeded our expectations in terms of team quality, team academics and fundraising. Her hard work and dedication to our student-athletes is very much appreciated and I wish her all the best in her career as she relocates closer to home."
A national search for a new head women's lacrosse coach will begin immediately.
