MACON, Ga. – The newest member of the Mercer women's lacrosse program was officially introduced earlier this week, as eight-year-old McKenna Moon signed her national letter of intent at Drake Field House. Moon, who signed her NLI during a Team IMPACT Draft Day event, will attend practices, games and events during the upcoming spring season.
Â
A Perry, Georgia, native, Moon was joined at the press conference by her parents, Amanda and William, and her sister Grace. Moon has Mitochondrial Encephalomyopathy, a type of mitochondrial disease.
Â
Following the press conference and Moon's signing of the NLI, head coach Samantha Eustace, her staff and members of the 2017 Mercer women's lacrosse team presented Moon with an official jersey, lacrosse stick and other team gear before closing out the evening with pictures and a small reception.
Â
