
Women's Lacrosse Falls to Campbell, 15-3

MACON, Ga. – Campbell used a big first half lead to push past the Mercer University women's lacrosse team, 15-3, on Sunday afternoon at Five Star Stadium. The Camels outscored the Bears 11-2 in the first half and Mercer was unable to overcome the deficit in the second period.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Campbell opened the game with a 3-0 run in the first nine minutes, but Mercer answered with a pair of goal in under a minute to cut the Camels' lead to 3-2 with 18:24 left in the first half. Campbell was able to take control of the momentum and scored eight more goals in the first half, while also keeping Mercer from spending too much time in the Bears' offensive third.
The Camels also scored the first two goals of the second half, pushing the score to 13-2 with 21:04 to play. Lindsey Zeltwanger scored for the Bears with 18:00 on the clock, but Mercer's offense was unable to spark a rally. Campbell added another pair of goals to move the final score to 15-3.

Mercer and Campbell were even on draw controls, 10-10.
NOTABLES
- Lindsey Zeltwanger netted her 13th goal of the season and dished out an assist to score a team-leading two points on the day. Zeltwanger also had a ground ball, a draw control and a caused turnover.
- Erica Coyne scored her 11th goal of the year and also had a season-high four ground balls, a draw control and a caused turnover.
- Haleigh Brooks scored her third goal of the season and added a ground ball.
- Kate Leone entered the game and dished out her first assist of the season and also picked up a ground ball.
- Audrey Allen led Mercer with three draw controls and added two ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Audrey Robertson had a career-high two draw controls and Meghan Segreti tallied a ground ball and a career-high-tying two caused turnovers.
- In goal, Haleigh Wurzel made 15 saves and grabbed a pair of ground balls.
- Campbell outshot Mercer, 37-7, and won in ground balls, 37-15.
RECORDS UPDATE
Mercer moves to 2-6 on the season and Campbell is now 4-5.
