Mercer To Face Charlotte On Friday

MACON, Ga. – The Bears are on the road again this weekend as the Mercer women's soccer team will kick off its match with Charlotte at 8 p.m. on Friday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

LAST TIME OUT
Mercer dropped a 3-0 match to Tennessee Tech on Sunday amid multiple weather delays.

SERIES HISTORY
Mercer owns a 2-1-1 record in the series with Charlotte. Last season, the Bears notched a 2-1 win over the 49ers.

SCOUTING CHARLOTTE
Charlotte has opened the season with a 2-2 record, which includes a 1-0 mark at home. Mercer will be the second SoCon team that Charlotte hosts this season as the 49ers opened the year with a 5-1 win against Western Carolina.

Megan Greene leads Charlotte with three goals and an assist for a total of seven points. Martha Thomas has also tallied seven points off a team-leading five assists and a goal. Julie Grainda has also netted three goals for the 49ers, ranking third on the team with six points. Thomas leads the nation in total assists and ranks eighth in assists per game, while Grainda and Green lead Conference USA in total goals.

Anna Shelden has spent a majority of time in goal for Charlotte thus far. Shelden has made seven saves and allowed seven goals for a .500 save percentage and 2.04 goals-against average. Overall, the 49ers have given up 2.25 goals per game.

MERCER NOTES
Maddie Clark leads Mercer with three goals after netting a pair of penalty kicks in last week's match at Kennesaw State. Clark has also dished out an assist to total seven points on the season. Abbey Reddig has also netted a pair of goals to rank second for the Bears with four points.

Clark ranks first in the SoCon and 29^th nationally with her three goals, while Reddig is third in the conference in total goals. Clark is also tied for first in the league in game-winning goals, having scored the game-winning goal at Alabama A&M.

Cristina Mursuli and Leah Cochran have split time in goal for Mercer thus far. Mursuli has played 225 minutes, made 15 saves and allowed eight goals for a .652 save percentage and 3.20 GAA. Cochran has spent 115 minutes in goal, made six saves and allowed two goals for a .750 save percentage and 1.56 GAA.
