Basketball Tip-Off Event Set For Thursday

Mercer men, women will be on hand to preview their upcoming seasons
MACON, Ga. -- Mercer fans will get the chance to preview the 2017-18 editions of the Bears' men's and women's basketball teams at the annual Basketball Tip-Off Event, on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6:30-8 p.m. The event will be at Hawkins Arena and is sponsored by Five Star Automotive and Smith, Brown and Groover, Inc.
Tickets for the fan-friendly event are $20 for adults and $10 for youth, 14-and-under.
Both the men's squad, coached by Bob Hoffman, and the women's team, coached by Susie Gardner, will be on hand to visit with the fans, toss out T-shirts, distribute raffle prizes, and participate in fun and games with the fans. Free food will also be available for those in attendance.

Sponsorship opportunities for fans and businesses are available. These sponsorships include a $200 "Basket" Sponsorship that includes a sign for your business, recognition on the Hawkins Arena video board and four Tip-Off Event tickets. A $500 "Slam Dunk" Sponsorship includes a sign for your business, recognition on the Hawkins Arena video board, four Tip-Off Event tickets, and the sponsorship of local area underprivileged children to come to the Tip-Off Event. Sponsorship checks should be made payable to Mercer University with "Tip-Off Event" listed in the memo line and can be mailed to the Mercer Basketball Office, 1501 Mercer University Dr., Macon, Ga. 31207.
