Mercer Finishes Regular Season Saturday at Furman

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer volleyball team (9-19, 3-12 Southern Conference) will travel to Greenville, S.C. to face Furman at 6 p.m. Saturday in both teams' regular season finale. The conference match is one of three to be played Saturday before the final SoCon standings are set.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Mercer trails Furman, 15-5, in their all-time series. The Paladins got the best of Mercer earlier this year, defeating the Bears in straight sets on Oct. 13 at Hawkins Arena in Macon. The Bears' last win over Furman came on Nov. 4, 2016 in Greenville (3-2) when Morgan MacGilvary notched 15 kills and Paige Alsten registered a career-best 11 blocks.

SCOUTING FURMAN
The league-leading Paladins (18-9, 12-2) enter the weekend with a shot to clinch the regular season title. They will face Samford on Friday before hosting Mercer on Saturday, which will serve as Senior Night. Jamila Johnson is fourth in the SoCon in kills per set (3.86) while Hunter Thompson averages 9.73 assists per set.

Furman has been tested of late, dropping its two SoCon losses to ETSU (Oct. 28) and UNCG (Nov. 3) within the last two weeks.

- Paige Alsten ranks third for the SoCon in hitting percentage (.326) and fifth in kills per set (3.61).
- Claire Waliczek is fourth in SoCon standings for assists per set (9.43), but Maddie Nunley has seen increased playing time of late (40.6 assists per match over the last five matches played).
- Emily Krogman earned her 10th double-double of the season with 13 kills and 19 digs against Samford on Wednesday. She is third in the SoCon in service aces (30).
- Three Bears set career-highs Wednesday: Danielle Faust (22 digs); Sarah Stewart (12 kills); Emily Wissmach (four aces).
- Wissmach ranks eighth in the SoCon for digs per set (3.29).
