GREENVILLE, S.C. – Mercer had its four-match winning streak snapped Thursday afternoon as the Bears fall at Furman, 7-0, at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville.

After the Paladins (13-5, 1-0 Southern) swept the doubles point the Bears (7-5, 1-1) showed some fight early on in singles action. Anna Sovic and Katty Weymouth both dropped close 7-5 opening sets in singles action while Marie Mottet pushed Furman's Katarina Kozarov to a 7-5 decision in the second set.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Credit Anna Sovic on a hard-fought day. After dropping a closely contested 6-4 match in doubles play alongside Katie Sidor, she was the only Bear to claim a set win with a 7-6 decision in the second set of her singles match against Furman's Blair Martin.

UP NEXT
Mercer returns home to host Appalachian State on Saturday, March 18 at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center in Macon, Georgia. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
