
Quick Turnaround Takes Bears to GSU Day of Duals

Mercer coming off 3-0 opening weekend in Birmingham
MACON, Ga. – A pair of beach volleyball matches await Mercer as it makes the short trip north to Atlanta on Tuesday to face Jacksonville State and host Georgia State at the GSU Day of Duals.
Mercer's matches against the Gamecocks and Panthers will be played back-to-back at 3 and 5 p.m., respectively, at the GSU Beach Volleyball Complex. The pair of contests come only three days after Mercer (3-0) went a combined 14-1 against three foes at the Blazer Beach Duals in Birmingham, Alabama to open the season.
There will be no live stats provided for the matches. Admission to the event is free of charge.

- Mercer's top four pairings – Tori Penrod/Emily Krogman, Sophie Peel/Emma Peel, Danielle Faust/Claire Waliczek and Madison Kerr/Amber Gibson are off to impressive 3-0 starts, having won all of their seeds in straight sets.
- The Bears have already defeated Jacksonville State once this season, defeating them, 5-0, in the season opener in Birmingham. The Gamecocks are winless.
- Nationally-ranked (No. 8) Georgia State is off to a strong 4-0 start, having defeated UNCW, College of Charleston, UNF and Spring Hill College at the UNF Beach Invitational last weekend.
