Bears Hosting Titans In Tuesday Match

MACON, Ga. – Mercer is back to non-conference play for a few matches, starting with Detroit Mercy on Tuesday morning at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.

Mercer is now 5-4 on the year after a 6-1 win over Western Carolina on Saturday as the Bears started Southern Conference play with a win. Mercer is undefeated at home so far this year, tallying a 4-0 mark, which includes three sweeps. Haley Powell has helped lead the Bears lately, as she is on a three-match winning streak and is 4-3 overall. Katia Stavroulaki is 4-2 at flight one and Katie Sidor is 5-3, including a 5-2 mark at flight three. In doubles play, Sidor and Anna Sovic are 5-4 at flight two while Stavroulaki and Grace Korta are 4-4 at flight one.

Detroit Mercy is 3-4 so far this season and the Titans have lost their last two matches. Detroit Mercy is also 1-3 on the road so far this season. Iris Thioux is on a five-match win streak and leads the Titans with a 5-2 singles record. Thioux also helps lead in doubles play, notching a 5-2 mark with Nynke Van Der Goot.
