MACON, Ga. – The Bears are on a three-match win streak after grabbing a 6-1 win over Detroit Mercy on Tuesday morning.

Mercer started strong, winning the doubles point with wins at all three pairings to take a 1-0 lead. Marie Mottet started off singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 win at flight four.

Katie Sidor won at flight three, 6-0, 6-1, followed by Grace Korta's 6-1, 6-1 win at flight two to clinch the match as Mercer led 4-0 overall. Katia Stavroulaki and Andrea Peteu both won 6-1, 6-1 at flights one and six, respectively, as the Bears stretched their lead to 6-0. Detroit Mercy won the final singles match with a win at flight five to conclude play.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Grace Korta clinched the win for the Bears with her 6-1, 6-1 win at flight two. She also won in doubles, a 6-2 victory with partner Katia Stavroulaki.

Next up, Mercer is at Jacksonville State on Thursday at 1 p.m.
