Mercer At Jacksonville State on Thursday

MACON, Ga. – After a solid win over Detroit Mercy on Tuesday, Mercer is at Jacksonville State on Thursday as the Bears play their second of three matches this week.

Mercer is now 6-4 on the year after stretching their win streak to three matches with a 6-1 win over Detroit Mercy on Tuesday. The Bears are 1-3 on the road thus far, but all three losses were to teams ranked in the top 15 nationally.

Marie Mottet, Haley Powell, Katie Sidor and Katia Stavroulaki are all on a three-match win streak in singles play. Sidor is 6-2 on the year at flight three, while Stavroulaki is 5-2 at flight one. In doubles play, Sidor and Anna Sovic are leading the way with a 6-4 record at flight two and are on a three-match win streak as a duo.

Jacksonville State is 3-7 on the year and is currently on a six-match losing skid. The Gamecocks are also 2-2 at home this season. Last year, Mercer downed Jacksonville State, 6-1, in Macon. The Gamecocks' roster features four freshmen, one junior and one senior.
