SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Mercer women's tennis team concluded its season on Saturday in the Southern Conference Tournament semifinals after a 4-0 loss to defending champions, ETSU.

The Buccaneers took the doubles point with wins at flights one and three, taking a 1-0 lead. ETSU went on to sweep the match with singles wins at flights one, four and five.

Mercer finished the season with a 14-9 record and went 4-3 in SoCon play, recording the best record overall and in conference play under head coach Eric Hayes.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Katie Sidor and Haley Powell were winning their doubles match when the point was decided and Sidor was in a close second set when the match was called.

COACH HAYES' TAKE
"ETSU played better than we did. We let the situation control us instead of controlling the flow of the match. We made a lot of progress this year and the program is moving in the right direction. I'm very proud of this team and what they've done."
