Bears Distance Runners Get Tune-Up at Georgia Tech

Darsey, Grzeszczak competed in one event apiece Friday

ATLANTA – A pair of Mercer distance runners competed in tune-up events at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday, April 21. The meet was added to Mercer's schedule earlier in the week.

Freshman McKaylin Darsey ran a 4-minute, 46.43-second time in the women's 1,500-meter run, finishing 17th. Fellow freshman Anna Grzeszczak placed 13th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an 11:44.13 finish. Grzeszczak's time was a personal record in the steeplechase, which she ran for the first time last week at the Catamount Classic in Cullowhee, North Carolina.

Friday's meet was held at George C. Griffin Track.

UP NEXT
The Bears will rest up and continue to train for the Southern Conference Championships, held May 11-12 in Birmingham, Alabama.
