Bears Compete At SoCon Championships On Monday, Tuesday

MACON – The Mercer track & field team will begin its postseason road on Monday and Tuesday when the Bears load the bus and head to Cullowhee, N.C., for the Southern Conference Championships at Western Carolina's Catamount Athletic Complex.

Fans unable to make the trip to western North Carolina can still follow all of the action for free via live results links provided by the SoCon office.

The arsenal is loaded for the Bears who have athletes ranked among the league's top 8 in 10 disciplines, including the 10,000m Run where Iris Porter and Chiara Belfico hold the two-fastest times among SoCon competitors this season. Multiple Bears are ranked among the top 8 in five of those events.

Mackenzie Crowe and Ava Ryan will get action started for the Orange & Black on Monday at 4:15 p.m. with competition in the 1500m Run. Mercer is scheduled to compete in seven other events on Monday, including the prelims of the 100m, 200m and 400m Dash events, as well as the 100m Hurdles.

The meet will conclude on Tuesday at 5:35 p.m. with the 4x400m Relay.
