Mercer will take on SoCon-leading Bucs at 6 p.m.

MACON, Ga. – Mercer (9-9, 2-5 SoCon) will host Southern Conference front-runner ETSU on Friday, Oct 12 at Hawkins Arena. The match will be live streamed on the SoCon Digital Network beginning at 6 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Mercer fell to the Bucs last season 3-0 in both matches. The Bears trail ETSU 5-19 in the all-time series history, last defeating the Bucs, 3-0, in 2012.

SCOUTING ETSU
The Bucs currently lead the SoCon in five out of seven statistical categories, including hitting percentage (.249), opponent hitting percentage (.167), assists (12.55), kills (13.55) and blocks (2.19). Key players for the Bucs consist of Leah Clayton (4.03 kills per set), Braedyn Tutton (1.04 blocks per set) and Marija Popovic (5.47 digs per set) who all lead the league in their respective categories. ETSU recently dropped its last nonconference match on Tuesday against High Point, falling 3-2 at home. The Bucs' only conference defeat was to Samford, 3-2, in September.

NOTABLES

Mercer snapped a five-game losing streak in conference play with a 3-0 sweep of The Citadel on Tuesday.
The Bears rank second in opponent hitting percentage, forcing its opponent hit an average of .179 per match. Mercer also ranks second in the league in blocks, recording 1.86 per set.
The Orange and Black are fifth in assists (11.52 per set), kills (12.46 per set) and service aces (1.30 per set) in the league.
Paige Alsten leads the Bears and ranks fourth in the conference in hitting percentage (.309) and kills (3.41).
Paige Alsten ranks fourth in the league in hitting percentage (.310) as well as kills per set (3.42).
Alsten earned her 300th total career block Tuesday against The Citadel.
Roberta Todd has moved into the top ten SoCon leading attackers, ranking eighth for averaging 3.00 kills per set.
Maddie Nunley leads Mercer in assists (473). She ranks fourth in the league with 10.06 per set.
Emilee Wissmach ranks eighth in the SoCon with 3.37 digs per set.
