Coach Kayden's Take
"We got off to a slow start in the first round…the damage was done over the first four or five holes," said head coach Kirk Kayden. "It wasn't a great first round for the team collectively. Our second 18 holes were much improved; they battled hard and moved up three spots.
Â
"Stanton [Schorr] and Tyler [Copp] didn't have their best days, which made for some team struggles. We'll have to overcome some adversity in tomorrow's final round."
Â
Mercer on Team Leaderboard
The Bears are six shots off fifth-place Jacksonville State (+12) heading into the third and final round of play. Mercer's slow start resulted in a tie for ninth through 18 holes, but the turnaround effort pushed Mercer into sixth place among the 11-team field.

Mercer on Individual Leaderboard
Three Bears – Nolan Miller, Spencer Ball and Martin Plukka – are inside the top 25 individually after each shot a second-round 71 (-1) to lead the turnaround.
