
Mercer Welcomes Six New Faces With 2019 Signing Class

MACON, Ga. – Mercer head women's soccer coach Tony Economopoulos has announced the addition of six new faces to the Mercer program.
"The staff and I are very excited about this 2019 recruiting class," Coach Economopoulos said. "We are filling some needs and we are getting deeper at the forward position. We will also be filling some voids on our back line, losing two senior defenders. We are very happy with this class. The staff worked very hard to bring these kids in and the future looks very bright for Mercer women's soccer."

- Led Hillgrove to Elite Eight in 2018
- Named to the Athletic Honor Society
- Played for Coach Shannon Center
- Played two years of club soccer with Concorde Fire in Atlanta for Coach Gregg Blasingame
- Her sister, Jenaeya, played college volleyball at Rhode Island
- Parents are Ron and Melanie Evans

- Led team to District titles in 2015 & 2016
- Team won the Julie Webber championship in 2016
- Named second-team All-Region in 2015
- Played for Coach Jimmy Angeles
- Played six years of club soccer with the Orlando City Soccer Club for Coach Craig Melton
- Team advanced to the ECNL Nationals three straight seasons
- Outstanding student, with a 4.88 GPA, National Honor Society, and Presidential Outstanding Academic Excellence Award
- Sister, Lauren Gassie, was a four-year standout for the Mercer women's soccer team (2011-14), earning all-conference honors

- Her brother, Trenton Whitley, played for the Mercer men's soccer team (2014-17) where he earned All-Southern Conference honors
- Played three years of club soccer for the NTH Tophat Development Academy for Coach Troy Garner
- Her club team won the 2015 and 2017 Southeastern ECNL Conference Championship, the 2014 Georgia State Cup Championship and advanced to the 2015 ECNL Championship Final Four
- Parents are Winston and Ada Whitely
