Bears Host Jacksonville State in Midweek Battle

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Bears' women's tennis team returns to action, hosting the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Play will be held at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Scouting the Gamecocks
Jacksonville State will enter Wednesday's meeting holding an undefeated 7-0 record on the early spring season. The Gamecocks top pairing of Marine Alberteau and Diana Monsalve have dominated their competitors on the doubles courts so far this season, as they are a perfect 6-0 on the year. Jacksonville State has three players boasting a 5-0 singles mark including Alberteau, Monsalve and Elena Tendero. The Gamecocks are coached by former standout Andres Amores, who has been at the helm of both the men's and women's programs since 2015.

Following play on Wednesday, the Bears will have a few days rest before heading to DeLand, Fla. to face Iowa State Saturday, March 3, beginning at 10 a.m.
