Bears Look to Bounce Back at Charleston Southern Sunday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's soccer squad will look to respond from recent defeat as the Bears travel to face Charleston Southern this Sunday, Aug. 26. The match will be held at the CSU Soccer Field with a 1 p.m. start time.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
The Bucs and Bears are meeting for the first time since 2013, and Mercer holds a 3-1-2 advantage in the all-time series. Mercer has won the past two meetings, taking a 2-0 win in Charleston in 2012 and a 4-0 victory in Macon the following year.

Charleston Southern enters Sunday's matchup with a fresh set of legs after having a week off since their last outing. In the Bucs' lone match of the season, Erin Rush scored an early game-winner as Charleston Southern topped Wofford, 1-0. Jazmin Gonzalez earned the win in between the posts for the Bucs, playing all 90 minutes and racking up seven saves in the match. Despite the score line, Wofford outshot Charleston Southern, 18 to 5. The Bucs are led by head coach Eric Terrill who enters his 22nd season at Charleston Southern.

UP NEXT
The Bears will conclude their first road swing of the season, heading to Davidson next Friday, Aug. 31. The match is slated for 7 p.m.
