Mercer Travels to Face In-State Foe Georgia Southern Thursday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team will head to Statesboro, Ga. to take on in-state rival Georgia Southern this Thursday, Jan. 31. Play is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Scouting the Eagles
Georgia Southern enters Thursday's matchup holding a 2-2 overall record, coming off a 7-0 sweep over Florida A&M. The Eagles also blanked Morgan State in their season opener. Georgia Southern's No. 6 seeded Elizabeth Goines has posted a perfect 3-0 start to the year. The Eagles defeated Mercer, 4-3, in Macon last season (2/2/18). Georgia Southern is led by second year head coach Sean McCaffrey.

The Bears will return to the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center for their home opener against Alabama State this Sunday, Feb. 3. Play is scheduled for 11 a.m.
