Bears storm back to shoot -12 at AutoTrader Collegiate
DULUTH, Ga. – After a tough first 18 holes, Mercer men's golf bounced back with an impressive, 12-under second round to finish the day in fourth at the AutoTrader Collegiate Classic hosted by Georgia State at Berkeley Hills Country Club.
The best score in the first round was an even par, 72 by Lino Galdin as the Bears struggled early. However, four of the five golfers beat that score in the second round – Galdin, Martin Plukka (67), Spencer Ball (68) and Tyler Copp (70).
Plukka's five-under second round vaulted him into a tie for eighth among the 78 individual golfers at the event – his 67 was one stroke shy of tying for the best round at the tournament, so far.

Coach Kayden's Take
"We had a tale of two stories today. We got off to a rough start this morning and had some bad holes down the stretch. But I'm proud of the guys for bouncing back and playing that well in the second round. It was the lowest team score in a round at the tournament so far.
We had four guys under par in one round and it's probably the lowest score we've had in a long time. It vaulted us up the leaderboard all the way to fourth. We had a tremendous team effort today all across the board; it definitely showed our potential as a team."
The final round of the tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 Tuesday morning. Mercer will be paired with Davidson and Western Kentucky on holes 4 through 7B.
