The Bears and Bulldogs meet Thursday at Betts Stadium

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's soccer team returns to Betts Stadium this week when they host The Citadel on Thursday night. The Bears and Bulldogs are set to kick-off at 7 p.m. in SoCon action.

Thursday's soccer match is SAAC Mental Health Awareness Game. Wear green to the contest to support SAAC Mental Health Awareness. At the contest, you can enter to win a free "Soccer Basket". No purchase necessary.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Mercer is 6-0 all-time against The Citadel. In last year's matchup, the Bears defeated The Citadel, 1-0. Sarah Adcock scored the game-winning goal in the 82^nd minute of the contest for the Bears. Mercer held the Bulldogs to zero shots on goal.

NOTABLES

Mercer's 36 shots in the Gardner-Webb match are the most by the Bears since recording 37 against Alabama A&M on Aug. 31, 2014.
Thursday's matchup puts the two top-scoring SoCon teams on the same pitch. Each have scored 23 goals this season, which is the tops in the SoCon.
The Bears are allowing the second-fewest goals in the SoCon. They have only allowed 11 goals in 11 games. In the 11 games for Mercer, they have recorded five shutouts.
Nicole Icen scored two goals in the win at VMI last Friday. The two goals gave her seven for the season, which now is tied for the most goals scored in the SoCon.
Abigail Zoeller leads the Bears and the SoCon in assists. Zoeller has six assists this season. For her career at Mercer, Zoeller has 14 assists, which tied for tenth for a career.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs enter the matchup against the Bears with an overall record of 5-3-2 and 1-1-0 in SoCon play. The Citadel is coming off a 2-0 victory over VMI on Sept. 29. The Citadel has scored 23 goals this season and is led by Logan Dix, who has four goals. Dix, who has only played in seven games, is tied for the team-lead with nine points. She is tied with Suzuka Yosue who leads the team with five assists. In goal, The Citadel has played three goalkeepers. Maddie Somogyi leads the team with eight games in goal and 40 saves. Somogyi has a 1.38 goals-against average this season.
