Mercer Falls to Samford in Three Sets

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – The Mercer Bears volleyball team went 0-3 (10-25, 17-25, 26-28) on Wednesday night against the Samford Bulldogs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One (10-25) | The Bears had a slow start to the match, with Samford taking 13 of the first 16 points of the set. The Bears would go on a 3-0 run behind kills from Jaida Howell and Annie Karle and a Bulldog error, but would fall to Samford.

Set Two (17-25) | Mercer would tie the set at five apiece behind kills from Malia Randolph, Jaida Howell, and Annie Karle. The Bears last point would come from an Annie Karle kill.

Set Three (26-28) | Nadya Williams got her first start of the season and recorded three kills in the set. She would put the Bears on the board first with a kill with a set from Malia Randolph. Brittany Major lead the team with six kills in the set.
