MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Bears volleyball squad swept Chattanooga in straight sets Wednesday night in Hawkins Arena.

The Bears beat the Mocs 3-0 in straight sets, going 25-22, 29-27, 25-20.

MERCER VS SAMFORD
Set One (25-22) | The first set was a back and forth battle between the Bears and Mocs. Annie Karle started Mercer's 4-1 run to end the set. Brittany major recorded 4 kills including the set winning set.

Set Two (29-27) | The Mocs came back strong in the second set. The Bears were one point away when the Mocs when on a 5-0 run to take the lead 25-24. The Bears would come back and take the set with a kill my Nya Steele.

Set Three (25-20) | Alexia Morey and Jaida Howell opened the set with back to back kills with an assists from Nya Steele. It would go on to be another close one but Mercer would go on 4-0 run to end the set and match with a service ace by Emilee Wissmach.

NOTABLES

Annie Karle leads the team in kills, recording 212 on the season.
Redshirt senior Alexia Morey recorded three blocks bringing her season total to 61.0.
Megan Smith is averaging 3.29 digs per set, totaling 194 in 59 sets.
Emilee Wissmach recorded a service ace, the match winning point, bringing her total to 20 on the season.

UP NEXT
Mercer will head to Greenville, S.C. to play Furman next Friday, October 18 at 6p.m.
