Bears set to play Furman and UNCG

MACON, Ga. – The Bears squad will head to Greenville, S.C. to play Furman on Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday they will head to Greensboro, N.C. to play UNCG at 4 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bears and Paladins have met 24 times, the Paladins leading the series 19-5. When the two squads me in the 2018, Furman took the match in four sets. Mercer and UNCG have only met 12 times, the last being in the 2018 season. The Bears took the last match 3-2.

NOTABLES

Freshman Jaida Howell leads the SoCon in hitting percentage with .367 %
Nya Steele, SoCon Setter of the Week, tied her second highest assist record in a game with 44 against Chattanooga.
Steele also recorded a season high four kills in the match against Chattanooga.
Redshirt senior Alexia Morey leads the team in blocks, recording 61.0 on the season so far.

SCOUTING THE PALADINS
The Paladins are coming off a 3-1 win over UNCG on Wednesday night. They are led by head coach Michelle Young who enters her 20^th season at the helm. Redshirt junior Nicole Mack leads the team with 192 kills. Redshirt sophomore Katie Murphy leads the team in assists (635) and service aces (12).

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
The Spartans are coming off a 1-3 loss at Furman on Wednesday night. Corey Carlin enters his sixth season at the helm of the program. Lauren Robeck is leading the team in blocks (56.0) and service aces (23). Grace Howell leads the team with 274 digs on the season.
