Lobo Wins the Blue Draw Single Title at Georgia Southern

Lobo took home the title for the Bears

STATESBORO, Ga. – Needing to win twice on Sunday, Hugo Lobo did just that as he claimed the crown in the Blue Draw Singles draw of the Georgia State Championships.

Opening the day, Lobo needed to defeat Joaquin Vallejo and he did to advance to the Finals. In the finals, he would face Fedi Nani of North Florida. Lobo trailed 5-2 in the first set before bouncing back to win it 7-6. In the second set, he found himself down again, 5-2. Again, he rallied and won the set 7-6, taking home the crown.

Playing in the fifth place match, Carver Arant looked to keep the winning ways going for the Bears. He came away with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Vasilev of Jacksonville State.

Mercer returns to action next Friday, Nov. 8 when they participate in the Wake Forest Fall Classic hosted by Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C.
