Women's Tennis Travels to Face Troy Saturday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team returns to action this Saturday, Feb. 16, as the Bears head to Alabama to compete against the Troy Trojans. Play is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.

Scouting the Trojans
Troy enters Saturday's matchup holding a 2-1 overall record, most recently defeating Alabama St., 6-1. The Trojans finished the 2018 season as the No. 1 seed, falling in the Sun Belt semifinals to South Alabama. The Trojans are led by head coach Rawia Elsisi who is serving in her fifth season as head coach. Elsisi was the 2018 Sun Belt Coach of the Year and previously played for Mercer's head coach, Eric Hayes, at Troy. Elsisi was Hayes' assistant during his stint at Troy.

The women's team will return to LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center to host the UAB Blazers on Wednesday, Feb. 27.
