Coach Kayden's Take
"I'm very proud of our guys today after a great team effort in winds that got up to almost 25 miles per hour," said head coach Kirk Kayden. "Par threes were very difficult and our guys did well with those holes.
Â
"We've got 36 holes to go and I think we have a lot of confidence playing against a NCAA tournament-like field. Other than some bogeys down the stretch, we're pleased with the start."
Â

The Bears are among the top five teams in the tournament after 18 holes of play. With 36 holes remaining, Mercer trails Arkansas State (-5) and Auburn (+5) and is tied with SMU and Georgia State.
