Mercer Falls to Oregon 13-6 in Season Opener

Hagerty registers first hat trick of season
EUGENE, Ore. – Mercer fell to Oregon, 13-6, in its season opener on a road trip to the West Coast despite a hat trick by Kelly Hagerty.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It took less than four minutes for Kelly Hagerty to notch her first goal of the season, giving the Bears the early advantage on the road. Three minutes later, the Ducks scored their first goal of the season to spark a 4-0 run. Hailey Rhatigan recorded her first collegiate goal to bring Mercer within two points with 12 minutes left to play in the half. The Ducks registered one more goal, but Lily Morin answered back with her first goal.

Oregon started the second half with a bang, scoring three consecutive goals within three minutes. The Ducks continued their lead with three more goals before Hagerty registered her second goal of the game. After back-to-back Duck goals, Mercer freshman Molly Dankowski broke the skid by notching her first score and was followed by Hagerty's third and final goal of the game.
