Four Bears pick up singles wins

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team continued to roll with its fifth straight win, defeating visiting Cleveland State, 4-3, at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center on Sunday morning.

Katie Sidor/Celine Schepers and Alara Hollyfield/Maeva Roquebert won their doubles matches, 6-1 and 7-5, respectively, to earn the doubles point for Mercer.

Mercer won the final two singles matches to clinch the match as Katie Sidor took the No. 1 match in three sets (1-6, 6-2, 6-1) and Marie Mottet took the No. 5 match in three sets (4-6, 6-3, 6-3). Celine Schepers also earned a straight sets win (6-0, 6-1) in the No. 4 match.
